Applications for the Golden Flipchart 2025 competition are now open
Applications for the all-Ukrainian contest Golden Flipchart 2025 have been accepted. This is the fifth edition of the competition and is an important platform for supporting initiatives in times of war. ‘The Golden Flipchart aims to highlight and celebrate the struggle of the public sector in accelerating Ukraine's victory.
The competition covers six nominations:
- Project of the Year - the project that has supported the military, IDPs or those affected by the war the most.
- Volunteer Initiative of the Year - an award for the best initiatives of 2024 aimed at accelerating Ukraine's victory.
- Youth Project of the Year - for youth initiatives that support military and civilian victims of war.
- Charity of the Year - an organisation that brings our victory closer every day.
- Youth Council of the Year - for youth councils that have united active youth for volunteering and important initiatives for the sake of victory.
- Civil Society Organisation of the Year - for an organisation that works every day to make changes in its community.
Applications can be submitted by members of civil society organisations, initiative groups, volunteer associations, youth councils and activists who have made a significant contribution to supporting Ukraine's victory.
Objectives of the competition
1. Preserving the stories of the civil society sector's struggle during the war:
- collecting and systematising successful cases, initiatives and projects that emerged during the war;
- reating an archive of examples of unity, solidarity and selfless work of NGOs and volunteer initiatives.
2. Recognition of the achievements of the public sector:
- awarding the best projects, organisations and initiatives in various nominations;
- emphasising the importance of the contribution of each civil society actor to the common struggle.
3. Motivation and support for activists and civil society organisations:
- encouraging further activities and development of civic initiatives;
- demonstrating examples of success that can inspire others to engage in civic activities.
4. Consolidation of civil society:
- strengthening interaction between different civil society and volunteer organisations;
- creating a platform for sharing experiences, finding partners and working together;
- promote a positive image of the Ukrainian civil society sector as part of the national resistance;
- emphasising the importance of the public sector in bringing victory closer;
- giving the public confidence that Ukraine will overcome all challenges by working together.
Applications are accepted until 3 March 2024 on the competition website. The winners will be selected in two ways - by online voting and expert evaluation. Voting will take place from 5 to 18 March 2024, and the official award ceremony will take place on 4 April 2025 in Ternopil.
The winners will receive media support from the competition partners and will also become the heroes of the unique publication ‘Civil Society of Ukraine during the War 3.0’.
The competition is organised by the team of the NGO ‘Educational and Analytical Centre for Community Development’ with the support of the National Endowment for Democracy.
