About the grant competition

The goal is to support young people in realising their socio-economic potential and increasing their economic independence through the creation of new or additional jobs.

The target  is to provide employment for young people who are graduates of vocational schools in accordance with their speciality and are unemployed, based on the principle ‘money follows the young person’.

The grant provides for the employment of young people, mentoring support with the possibility of continuing to work at an enterprise, institution or company, and involvement in corporate culture. The duration of the project is no more than 3 months, of which 2-3 months are spent on employment.

*Due to the martial law in Ukraine and the process of amending regulations, the terms of the competition stages may be extended

Target audience

The target audience is Ukrainian youth aged 16 to 21 who are interested in getting their first official job in their speciality. And directly employers who are ready to hire graduates of vocational education institutions without experience.

The geography of the project is territorial communities: Kyiv, Zvyagel, Bakhmach, Mena, Kulykivka, Nizhyn, Valky, Balakliia, Chuhuiv, Kegychiv, Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Bashtanka, Uzhhorod, Mukachevo, Lutsk, Lviv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Kropyvnytskyi, Poltava, Kharkiv, Irpin, Bucha, Vyshhorod, Gostomel, Korosten, Korostyshiv.

Programme budget

The total budget of the programme is UAH 3,829,800.00, the maximum grant amount is UAH 380,000, and the minimum grant amount is UAH 76,000.

Who can be an applicant

The applicants who can receive a budget grant under the competitive programme are:

• legal entities regardless of their organisational and legal form, form of ownership and subordination that carry out youth work, are registered in accordance with the requirements of the legislation and have at least 30 percent of employees under the age of 35 (except for public associations and educational institutions);
• individual entrepreneurs engaged in youth work, registered in accordance with the requirements of the law and employing at least 30 percent of employees under the age of 35;
• do not carry out activities related to alcohol, tobacco or gambling businesses, sale of dual-use goods or environmental pollution.

Required documents

In order to participate in the competitive selection for budget grants, applicants shall submit to the UMF an application package containing the following basic documents:

• application for participation in the competitive selection in the form developed by the Foundation;
• cost estimate and schedule for the implementation of the youth project in the form developed by the Foundation;
• a copy of the charter or other constituent document with all amendments and additions;
• an extract from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs and Public Organisations, formed not earlier than the date of the announcement of the competitive selection;
• information on the experience of its activities, which confirms that the subject of the application carries out youth work, directs its activities to solve social problems of youth and meet the needs of society (on events held and implemented projects, other forms of activity with links to publications on the Internet, including by providing letters of recommendation from partner organisations);
• a letter in any form with information on the number of employees of the applicant in accordance with the staffing table and confirmation of the presence of at least 30 per cent of employees under the age of 35.
